Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel.
The claim of the petitioner for promotion on the post of Head Constable is stated to have been negatived solely on the ground of certain adverse entries which had been inflicted and entered in the service record of the petitioner in 2013. The adverse entries have since been set aside by the State Public Services Tribunal in terms of its judgement rendered on 31 July 2018 on Petition No. 1494 of 2014. Consequently the petitioner contends that no legal impediment exists for the consideration of the claim of the petitioner.
Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the second respondent states that subject to verification of the aforesaid fact as well as the service record of the petitioner with respect to any other adverse entries or orders of punishment operating, his claim for promotion shall be duly attended to and disposed of in accordance with law by the said respondent expeditiously and preferably within a period of two months from the date of presentation of a certified copy of this order.
Accordingly and without going into the merits of the claim of the petitioner, this petition shall stand disposed of in light of the statement noted above.
