JUDGMENT / ORDER

When this Criminal Original Petition was taken up, separate affidavits have been filed on behalf of the petitioner and the second respondent/ de facto complainant.
2. In the affidavit filed by the petitioner, it is stated that since he eloped with the daughter of the second respondent, the second respondent lodged a complaint against him; due to the wedlock a female child was born and the second respondent is now regularly visiting his house for visit of her granddaughter. It is further stated that trial has not yet commenced in the case and due to the pendency of the case the petitioner is put to mental hardship. Stating so, it is prayed to quash the proceedings in S.C.No.360 of 2015 on the file of the Magalir Court, Chennai, on the ground that the dispute has been amicably settled between them.
3. In the affidavit filed by the second respondent / de facto complainant, it is stated that the dispute between the petitioner and herself had been settled and she has no objection to quash the impugned proceedings.
4. Both the parties are present. Their identities have been verified and they accepted the contents in the affidavits as true and genuine.
5. Recording the affidavits filed as stated supra, the proceedings in S.C.No.360 of 2015 on the file of the Magalir Court, Chennai, is quashed, and the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of accordingly.
