The amount involved in this appeal is less than Rs.50,000/-. It has been the consistent practice of this Court not to entertain appeals wherein the claims are petty and claims below Rupees One Lac have been quantified as petty claims by this Court. Hence, only on the ground that the appeal involves a petty claim, the same is not entertained. However, so far as the rate of interest awarded by the Tribunal is concerned, the same is reduced to 12% per annum instead of 15% per annum. The appeal stands disposed of accordingly. This order shall not be treated as precedent in other cases since it has not been passed on the merits of the case.
