Writ Petition No.1446 of 2014
Order: (per the Hon’ble the Chief Justice Sri Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta) We are of the view that in this case, this Court does not find any necessity of issuing a Writ of Habeas Corpus. It appears that the petitioner has already approached the State Human Rights Commission alleging inaction on the part of the police authorities. The police authorities have submitted a report to the Commission, which is yet to take steps on receipt of the same.
Therefore, we close the writ petition with a request to the Commission to enquire into the matter and if this matter is not enquired into finally, it should be done as early as possible, preferably, within a period of one month from the date of communication of a copy of this order.
Consequently, the miscellaneous applications, if any pending, shall also stand dismissed. No costs.
