The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is cultivating the land to an extent of Ac. 2.00 cents in Survey No.68/1, Kalluru Village, Pulicherla Mandal, Chittoor District, and it is an inam land. There is no bar in alienating this land. However, when the petitioner approached the Sub-Registrar, Pakala, Chittoor District (5th respondent), the Sub- Registrar informed the petitioner that it is an AWD land and, therefore, no transactions can be entertained.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that there is no assessed waste land in Survey No.68/1 of Kalluru Revenue Village and on account of improper information furnished to the Sub-Registrar, Pakala, Chittoor District (5th respondent), the right of the petitioner to alienate the land is being denied causing severe hardship to the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner requests that a direction be issued to the Tahsildar, Pulicherla Mandal, Chittoor District (4th respondent), to verify the revenue records and to inform the petitioner as well as the Sub-Registrar, Pakala, Chittoor District (5th respondent), the status of land in Survey No.68/1.

Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and without expressing any opinion on merits, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the Tahsildar, Pulicherla Mandal, Chittoor District (4th respondent), to verify the revenue records concerning Survey No.68/1 of Kalluru Village, Pulicherla Mandal, Chittoor District, and inform the petitioner as well as the Sub-Registrar, Pakala, Chittoor District (5th respondent), the status of land in the said survey number along with sub-divisions within a period of three (3) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
4. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition, shall stand closed.
