JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondent to issue passport to the petitioner, based on his application with reference to file No. MA3069692036716 dated 07.10.2016.
2. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said application has not been considered by the respondent so far.
3. This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the respondent to consider and decide. Therefore, this writ petition is disposed of, only with a direction to the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 07.10.2016 and pass orders on the same, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
