Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel.
Undisputedly, the petitioner is posted in the State of Jharkhand. The battalion in which he presently serving is also posted in that State. His claim for promotion is to be considered by the Director General of Police, who sits at New Delhi. From the disclosure made in the writ petition, it is evident that no part of the cause of action arises within the territorial jurisdiction of this Court.
The Writ petition is consequently dismissed with liberty to the petitioner is so chosen and advised to approach the appropriate High Court.
