JUDGMENT / ORDER

Petitioner's vehicle bearing registration No.KL-31-2989 has been seized. Petitioner's case is that the vehicle has been seized alleging violation of the provisions of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957. He seeks to compound the offence under Rule 60A (1) of the Kerala Minor Mineral Concessions Rules, 1967 before the respondents. 2. I have heard the learned Government Pleader. On a consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, I dispose this writ petition with a direction to the respondents to release the vehicle to the petitioner on payment of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand Only) by the petitioner. On payment of the amount as above, the vehicle shall be released to the petitioner forthwith by the respondents. If any crime has been registered against the petitioner, the respondents shall report the composition of the offence before the competent Court.
The Writ petition is disposed as above.
