The grievance of the petitioner is that his application for grant of firearm license dated 13.12.2018 is pending before respondent no.2 - District Magistrate/District Licensing Authority, Gorakhpur and the same has not been decided till date.
Learned Standing Counsel fairly states that in case the abovementioned application is pending and has not been decided till date, the same would be considered and decided expeditiously.
In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the issue and considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this writ petition is disposed of finally with a direction to Competent Authority to decide petitioner's application for grant of firearm license and pass appropriate reasoned order, in accordance with law, preferably within a period of one year from today, provided there is no legal impediment.
