JUDGMENT / ORDER

In this petition brought under Article 227 of the constitution of India, the petitioner seeks a direction to the Sub Inspector of Police, Njarakkal to conduct reinvestigation in crime No.421/2008 of the said station. It is not known what the petitioner means by the term reinvestigation. Probably the petitioner means further investigation. Anyway, such a relief cannot be granted by this court under Article 227 of constitution of India which deals with Supervisory powers or jurisdiction High Court over sub ordinate courts and tribunals. The police department or other departments of the Government will not come under the purview of Article 227 of the Constitution of India. The petitioner will have to pursue appropriate relief possible under the Code of Criminal Procedure, or under Article 226 of the constitution of India. Without prejudice to the right to pursue such appropriate relief, this petition can be closed. In the result, this petition is closed, without prejudice to the right of the petitioner to seek appropriate relief possible under the law.
