AG FOR R1 TO R3) THIS WRIT PETITION IS FILED UNDER ARTICLES 226 AND 227 OF THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA, PRAYING TO DIRECT THE RESPONDENT NO.2 & 3 TO TAKE MEASURES TO PREVENT ILLEGAL TRADING, SLAUGHTERING, TRANSPORTATION OF CATTLE DURING THE UPCOMING BAKRID FESTIVAL SEASON ACROSS THE STATE OF KARNATAKA & ETC.
THIS WRIT PETITION COMING ON FOR FINAL HEARING THIS DAY, THE COURT MADE THE FOLLOWING:-
ORDER None for the petitioner.

Admitted. Record perused.
2. In this petition, the petitioner inter alia has prayed for the reliefs:
a) Issue a writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order, directing the Respondent No.2 & 3 to take measures to prevent illegal trading, slaughtering, transportation of cattle during the upcoming Bakrid festival season across the state of Karnataka.
b) Issue a writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order, direction to Respondent No.2 & 3 to deploy special squads to monitor and take action against the illegal trading, slaughtering, transportation of cattle during the upcoming Bakrid festival season throughout the state of Karnataka.
c) Issue a writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ order or direction to Respondent No.2 and 3 to co-operate with the Animal Welfare Board Officers and to assist them by registering complaints and to take action against violators in accordance with law.
d) Issue a writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ order or direction to Respondent No.2 and 3 to five protection to the animal welfare boards officers when they are discharging their official duties.
3. When the matter was taken up today, learned Additional Government Advocate submitted that this writ petition was filed in the year 2018 to prevent illegal trade, slaughtering and transport of the cattle for upcoming Bakrid festival. The aforesaid festival has been celebrated in the years 2018 as well as 2019. Therefore, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition.
4. In view of the aforesaid submission, the writ petition is disposed of with a liberty to the petitioner to take recourse to such remedy as may be available to him under the law in case occasion so arises.
