Heard Mr.J.T.Trivedi, learned advocate for the petitioners. It is submitted that the entry regarding purchase of the land by the petitioners has been mutated in the revenue record on 18.02.1989, whereas the Notice was issued to the petitioners on 10.08.1999. The learned advocate for the petitioners has submitted that it is a settled position of law that suo-motu power should be exercised within a reasonable period of time. Reliance has been placed upon a judgment of a Division Bench of this Court in reported in Rameshbhai Ambalal Shah v. State of Gujarat and Anr. reported in 2011(3) GLH

By way of ad-interim relief, it is directed that status-quo, qua the land in question, shall be maintained till then.
In addition to the normal mode of service, Direct Service for respondents Nos.1 to 3 is permitted.
