JUDGMENT / ORDER

IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT HYDERABAD FOR THE STATE OF TELANGANA & THE STATE OF ANDHRA PRADESH (Special Original Jurisdiction) THURSDAY, THE THIRTEENTH DAY OF NOVEMBER TWO THOUSAND AND FOURTEEN PRESENT THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE VILAS V. AFZULPURKAR WRIT PETITION No.32398 of 2014 BETWEEN G.Venkateswar Rao AND ... PETITIONER The State of Andhra Pradesh, Rep. by its Principal Secretary (Department of Revenue), A.P. Secretariat Building, Hyderabad and others.
...RESPONDENTS The Court made the following:
ORDER:
Heard.
2. The grievance of the petitioner in this writ petition is that his application for renewal of arms license is not being considered and disposed of in spite of the said application pending from 25.06.2014. Petitioner states that he possesses NPB Pistol under license No.1/10 of Kanchikacherla Mandal. Petitioner sought renewal of the said license under Section 15 of the Indian Arms Act as the earlier license expired on 17.06.2014. Petitioner claims that he is entitled for renewal of the licence. However, alleging inaction, the present writ petition is filed.
3. Learned Government Pleader for Home, on instructions, states that the renewal application of the petitioner for his license bearing No.37/Home/2010 was enquired into by the Inspector of Police, Kanchikacherla Police Station, Krishna District, and appropriate report was submitted to the Superintendent of Police. It is stated that the Superintendent of Police, Krishna District, has also obtained appropriate reports from the SDPO, Nandigama and Circle Inspector, Nandigama and sent report to the District Collector on 01.11.2014 recommending for renewal. In view of the said reports, it is stated that the issue is pending with the District Collector, respondent No.2, for appropriate decision in the matter.
4. It is evident from the above that the report of the Superintendent of Police to the Collector is dated 01.11.2014 and there is nothing to presume that respondent No.2 shall not take that into consideration and pass appropriate orders. Since the reports were received by the District Collector only recently, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition by directing respondent No.2 to take into consideration the petitioner’s application and the reports received and pass appropriate orders on petitioner’s application for renewal expeditiously.
With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
