This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to register the case on the basis of the complaint dated 15.10.2015 lodged by the petitioner and investigate the same and file the final report in accordance with law.

It is the case of the petitioner that he has lodged a complaint with the respondent police, alleging that one Parthasarathy has received a sum of Rs.15 lakhs from the petitioner on the assurance that he would get a job for his son, however, he neither secured a job nor returned the amount to the petitioner. On receipt of the same, the second respondent conducted enquiry calling upon both the parties, during which, the said Parthasarathy has paid a sum of Rs.3 lakhs to the petitioner and sought time for payment of balance sum of Rs.12 lakhs, but he failed to pay the amount as promised. When the petitioner asked about the remaining payment, the said Parthasarathy has threatened him with dire consequences. He made a complaint to the third respondent in this regard. However, till date, no action has been taken by the respondent police. Hence, this petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondents.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the third respondent to hold appropriate enquiry on the petitioner's complaint, which was received in CSR No.136/2015 dated 15.10.2015 and if the allegations made therein disclose commission of cognizable offence, register a case, investigate the same and file a final report or close the same as the case may be, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.
5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
