JUDGMENT / ORDER

1.Issue Notice. Mr.Akhil Akbar Ali, learned Government Advocate, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. With the consent of the learned counsels for parties, the writ petition is taken up for hearing and final disposal. RAJIV SHAKDHER,J.

2.The only prayer made in the writ petition is that the petitioner's application dated 14.12.2016, for grant of Private Service Vehicle Permit may be dealt with, in accordance with law.
3.Mr.Akhil Akbar Ali, who appears for the respondent, says that if a direction is issued, the needful will be done.
4.Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of, with a direction to the respondent to deal with the application of the petitioner dated 14.12.2016, in accordance with law. The needful will be done with due expedition, though, not later than eight weeks, from the receipt of a copy of the order. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
