JUDGMENT / ORDER

Petitioner completed All India Secondary School Examination, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education. Petitioner was issued with a certificate. The certificate is of the year 2006. Petitioner wants to correct the date of birth and the name of her father in the certificate. 2. The matter is covered by the judgment of this Court in Sreeraj Nath v. Central Board of Secondary Education, Chennai (2013 KHC 2724), wherein this Court held that it is for the school authorities to make initial correction and thereafter forward the same to the CBSE for making corrections in the certificate and further that, bar of five years will not stand in the way of causing date of birth corrected in genuine cases.
3. The details are to be corrected by the school, -2-
W.P.(C). No. 31505 of 2014 where the petitioner had earlier studied. The petitioner contends that she has completed the final examination from the 4th respondent's school. The learned Standing Counsel pointed out that the petitioner had studied in Marygiri English Medium School, Thiruvananthapuram, before joining the 4th respondent School. Therefore, the petitioner shall approach the Marygiri School to correct the details as above in the school records.
4. Under these circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of as under:
The petitioner shall make an application to the Marygiri School, to correct the necessary details in the school records, who shall make necessary enquiry in the matter and if the genuineness of the claim is found to be correct, necessary correction shall be made in the school records and the same shall be forwarded to the 4th respondent, the Principal, St.Shantal English Medium School, who shall make necessary correction in the -3-
W.P.(C). No. 31505 of 2014 certificate issued by CBSE. This shall be done within a period of three months. It is open to the petitioner to produce authenticated copies of the birth certificate before respondents. No costs.
