Petitioners are running Authorised Wholesale Depots (AWD) at Vadakara in Calicut District. The petitioners submits that they used to lift the monthly quota of rice sanctioned by the Food Corporation of India (third respondent). However, it is submitted that for the month of May, 2013, certain quantity of BPL non-subsidy rice was shown in the records as having been lifted by the petitioner. The petitioners have not lifted any such quantity of the rice. The case of the petitioners is that no quantity of BPL additional non-subsidy rice has been released to them. The petitioners have raised their grievance in W.P.(C) No.27595 of 2013 by Ext.P3 and W.P.(C) No.27599 of 2014 by Ext.P5 before the Food Corporation of India (third respondent).
W.P.(C) Nos.27595 & 27599 of 2014 2 The limited request of the petitioners is that an expeditious consideration of Exts.P3 and P5 by the third respondent. Therefore, there shall be a direction to the third respondent to consider Exts.P3 and P5 and take a decision on the same after hearing the petitioners within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
The writ petitions are disposed of as above.
