The petitioner has approached the 1st respondent for the cancellation of Torrance sketch and plan prepared under the Surveys and Boundaries Act by the 2nd respondent. Petitioner has submitted Ext.P1 complaint before the 1st respondent. It seems that on account of the pendency of civil suit between the petitioner and one T.P.Antony, the 1st respondent has not finalised the matter. 2. Pendency of civil dispute is not a bar in exercising statutory power under the law. In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to finalise the proceedings on Ext.P1 within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment after hearing the petitioner, T.P.Antony and any other affected parties.
Writ petition is disposed of as above.
