Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of certiorarified mandamus, to call for the records and quash the impugned order dated 20.12.2016 passed by the Respondent vide Rc.No. E3(1)/918/175858/2013 rejecting the grant of Public Resort / Entertainment Licence to the petitioner for the year 2016 and consequently direct the respondent to grant the above license to the petitioner for the balance period of the year 2016 and for the year 2017, within time frame.
For Petitioner : Mr.K.Ravi For Respondent : Mr.A.N.Thambidurai Special Government Pleader O R D E R The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a writ of certiorarified mandamus, to call for the records and quash the impugned order dated 20.12.2016 passed by the respondent rejecting the grant of Public Resort / Entertainment Licence to him for the year 2016 and consequently direct the respondent to grant the above license to him for the balance period of the year 2016 and for the year 2017, within time frame
2. Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent produced a letter dated 20.06.2017 written by the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai, wherein, the request of the petitioner for renewal of the licence for the year 2017 was rejected.
3. Since the respondent had passed an order dated 20.06.2017 rejecting the request of the petitioner for renewal of Public Resort / Entertainment Licence to him for the year 2017, the present writ petition stands closed and liberty is given to the petitioner to challenge the order dated 20.06.2017 passed by the respondent, in accordance with law. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
