[Order of the Court was made by M.VENUGOPAL, J.] This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents herein to accommodate the students belonging to SC/ST Community in the renovated SC/ST Boys Hostel situated near New Bus Stand, Thoothukudi, Thoothukudi District, which had been opened on 8.3.2017, on the basis of the Petitioner's representation, dated 10.7.2017.
2.Heard both sides. No counter is filed on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3.
3.By consent, the main Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
4.At this stage, the Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the Respondents 1 to 3 brings it to the notice of this Court that already building construction in respect of the hostel was completed during the month of March 2017 and now water facilities apart from the compound wall is to be provided within a short span of time.
5.In this regard, the Learned Additional Government Pleader brings it to the notice of this Court that within four weeks time, the compound wall in question will be constructed and the water facilities as well as the gas connection would be provided and thereafter, the students of SC/ST Community would be admitted in the hostel and hostel will commence its functioning in the new building situated near New Bus Stand, Thoothukudi, Thoothukudi District.
6.In view of the fore-going submissions made by the Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the Respondents 1 to 3, this Court recording the same,directs the Third Respondent to appraise the Petitioner about the steps taken by the Respondents in regard to the providing of compound wall, water connection and gas connection and to dispose of the representation of the Petitioner, dated 10.07.2017 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7.With the above said observation(s) and direction(s), the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
