Petitioner is the widow of a pensioner who retired from service of the 1st respondent Corporation. As per Ext.P1 pension payment order it is approved that on the event of death of the petitioner's husband, she will be entitled for family pension. The petitioner's husband died on 27.02.2011. Grievance of the petitioner is that no family pension is disbursed to her, till date. It is admitted that there occurred delay in obtaining the Death Certificate of the petitioner's husband and the same was produced only in May 2014. The petitioner had submitted Ext.P4 representation before the 1st respondent to expedite the action and to make payment of the arrears of family pension. Since Ext.P4 was not considered, this writ petition is filed. 2. Learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that, the petitioner had failed to produce the Death Certificate for quite a long time. Since W.P.(C). No. 15409 of 2014 -2-
the Death Certificate was produced only recently, the application will be processed and necessary steps will be taken to disburse the family pension along with arrears.
3. Considering the factual situation prevailing, this court is of the opinion that, a direction to the respondents to settle the claim expeditiously, will suffice to meet the interest of justice.

Therefore this writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to consider petitioner's request for payment of family pension on the basis of Ext.P2 Death Certificate produced, and to take an appropriate decision for payment of the eligible amounts due to the petitioner at the earliest. The arrears of family pension, if any found eligible, shall be disbursed to the petitioner at any rate within a period of 2 months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
