JUDGMENT / ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) This writ petition is directed against the traffic bottleneck on Old Mahabalipuram Road, now known as Rajiv Gandhi Salai. The petitioner submits that changes in traffic arrangements made in the recent past have aggravated the traffic bottleneck in the area.
2.After hearing Mr.N.L.Rajah, learned Senior Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mrs.Vasudha Thiagarajan, learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondents, we deem it appropriate to add (i) The Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police, (ii) The Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Chennai and (iii) The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Chennai, as party respondents in this writ petition and they are, accordingly, arrayed as Respondents 4 to 6. The cause title be amended accordingly.
3.The added respondents shall treat this writ petition along with the documents filed therewith as representation of the petitioner and take a decision thereon at the earliest, preferably within four (4) weeks from the date of communication of this order. The petitioner shall serve a copy of the writ petition along with the documents filed therewith to the added respondents along with a representation, which shall also be considered.
Writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of. No costs.
