JUDGMENT / ORDER

With consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
2 The writ petitioner, Dr. P. Selvarathi, while serving as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Botany in SFR College, Sivakasi, pursuant to a website advertisement dated 01.07.2013 inviting applications for the post of Dean, College Development Council, prescribing the qualification and scale of pay of Rs.37,400  67,000 with AGP as Rs.10,000/-, applied for the same as she was fully eligible. She was also called for interview to the post of Dean on 30.04.2014. It is stated that considering her eligibility and performance in the interview, she was appointed as per the terms of appointment for a period of three years with the basic pay of Rs.37,000  67,000/- and she also joined the College Development Council on 21.07.2014 as Dean expecting that the respondent would pay her salary in terms of the advertisement dated 01.07.2013. But, after appointing the petitioner as Dean of the College Development Council, the respondent miserably failed to adhere to the terms of appointment in respect of payment of salary. Feeling aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has preferred the present writ petition.
3 The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was already serving as Associate Professor and HOD (Botany) in SFR College, Sivakasi, with higher perks and other allowances; however, enticed by the better perks and remunerations offered by the respondent, quitting her job in SFR College, Sivakasi, she accepted the post of Dean of College Development Council; but, after joining the post of Dean of College Development Council, she has not been paid as per the terms of appointment given in the website advertisement dated 01.07.2013. According to the learned counsel, it is not open to the respondent to reduce the petitioner's salary or go back from the terms of appointment.
4 Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the respondent fairly submitted that after receiving notice from this Court, a meeting was convened and it was decided therein that Bharathiyar University shall abide by the terms of appointment given in the website advertisement dated 01.07.2013.
T. RAJA, J., mrr Recording the aforesaid submission made by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent University, this writ petition is allowed as prayed for. No costs.
