JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner has approached this Court aggrieved by the stop memo issued by the Village Officer as well as the Grama Panchayat. Petitioner submits that he is operating a quarry based on a valid permit. It is further submits that stop memos were issued without adverting to the fact that the petitioner is in possession of valid permit. However, it is submitted that the permit has already been expired and the petitioner is contemplating to renew the permit. Therefore, notwithstanding the issuance of stop memos, the authorities shall consider the petitioner's application for renewal of permit. In view of the fact that the petitioner's permit is expired, the Grama Panchayat shall consider the petitioner's application for renewal of permit based on any permit granted by the Geologist. The stop memos issued will not stand in the way of authorities in considering the WP(C).No.33013/2014-A.
2 application. Needful shall be done by the Geologist within a period of three weeks.
Writ petition is disposed of as above.
