1. Called in revise. None appeared to press this writ petition. Sri Teerath Raj Shukla holding brief of Sri Ikram Ahmad, advocate is present for respondent- University. In the circumstances, we ourselves have perused the record.
2. By means of present writ petition, petitioner has sought following reliefs:
"1. Issue a writ, order or suitable directions in the nature of writ of 'Certiorari' quashing the entire selection proceedings of the General Selection Committee held on 12.03.2015 regarding both categories, namely, i.e. under CAS and direct recruitment for the posts of Associate Professor in the Department of History.
2. Issue a writ, order or suitable directions in the nature of mandamus commanding the Respondents No. 1 & 2, to hold the Selection afresh for promotion (under CAS) as well as direct category through a validly constituted selection committee as provided in 5.1.2 of the UGC Regulations 2010.
3. Issue a writ, order or suitable directions in the nature of mandamus commanding the Respondent Nos. 1 & 2 to grant the promotion to the petitioner on the post of Associate Professor (under CAS) in the D/o History, Aligarh Muslim University."
3. We ourselves have gone through the pleadings, grounds as also reliefs sought and find that petitioner is not able to make out a case so as to justify interference of this Court by granting reliefs, as prayed for.
4. Moreover, it appears that either the cause of action no more survives or the petitioner has lost interest in this matter or it has otherwise become infructuous and, probably for this reason, none is interested to have decided this matter on merits and that is why, counsel for petitioner is absent.
5. Dismissed. Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
