Heard Sri Pranab Kumar Ganguli, learned counsel for the petitioners. Sri Neeraj Tripathi has accepted notice on behalf of respondents no. 2,3,4 and 5. Sri Kailash Prasad Pathak has appeared for respondent no. 1.
The petitioners have filed this petition seeking a direction upon the respondents to give due weightage to their experience as guest faculty while making regular selection in the department of Geography as Professor in the University of Allahabad.
It is alleged that the petitioners were appointed as guest lecturers in the department of Geography at University of Allahabad in the year 2006. Therefore, they are entitle to weightage while making regular selection.
The regular appointment as faculty members of the University are supposed to be made as per the requisite qualifications prescribed under the Statutes by giving preference if any to those as mentioned in the Statutes.
In the Statues there is no provision for giving weightage to the experience of the guest faculty. Therefore, it would not be proper for this Court to direct for issuing any direction in this regard.
The writ petition is mis-conceived and is dismissed.
