JUDGMENT / ORDER

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Certiorari, calling for the records relating to the impugned proceeding issued by the third respondent Dean in Ref No.8518/E1/2014 dated 17.02.2015, quash the Same in so far as it contains the rider to the effect that the petitioner should hold the position as the Professor & Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery in the Madurai Medical college, Madurai only until an Associate Professor who is senior in CML gets promoted as Professor.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 and Mr.B.Vinothkumar, learned counsel appearing for the fourth respondent.
3. It is represented that the Writ petition is about the designation of the petitioner and the dispute is with regard to the appointment to the post of Head of the Department in the Department of Plastic Surgery, Madurai Medical College, Madurai ? 625 020, Madurai District. It is further represented that the petitioner in the above Writ petition is no more. Hence, nothing survives and the Writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed.
