2. The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to permit the petitioner to pay the arrears of property tax of Rs.13,06,566/- for the petitioner's building Door No.165 (74), TTK Road, Teynampet, Chennai-600 018, in 25 monthly installments.
3. Mr.Selvaraj, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that as per the order dated 24.01.2017, the petitioner had paid Rs.2,00,000/- [Rupees Two Lakhs only] on 01.02.2017 and a further sum of Rs.3,00,000/- [Rupees Three Lakhs only] on 09.02.2017. The learned counsel would further submit that if five months time is granted, the petitioner will pay the entire balance amount.
4. Mr.T.C.Gopalakrishnan, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent states that the prayer in the Writ Petition itself is seeking permission to pay the property tax in monthly installments and they have no objection, if the entire amount is paid in a reasonable time.
5. Taking into consideration, the above submissions, the Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the petitioner to pay the balance property tax in five monthly installments, starting from March, 2017. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
