Petitioners have approached this Court seeking to release their vehicles bearing Reg. Nos. KL-25-D-8189 and KL-25-8313. The vehicles were seized on the allegation that the vehicles were attempted to be used for an offence under the Mines and Minerals (Regulations and Development) Act, 1957 and the Minor Mineral Concession Rules. 2. It is needless to state that the petitioners have an option to compound the offence by depositing an amount of Rs. 25,000/- each, which has been granted by this Court in various cases. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of as under:
The petitioners are permitted to compound the offence depositing an amount of Rs. 25,000/- each as compounding fee and the requisite applications with the 2nd respondent and on receipt of such fee, the vehicles shall be released forthwith.
