The petitioner filed Election Petition No.T- 20160324011020 under Section 12-C of the U.P Panchayat Raj Act, 1947 against respondent no.2 who is elected Gram Pradhan of the Village. The said Election Petition was dismissed by the Election Tribunal vide its order dated 4.11.2016. Against the aforesaid judgment dated 4.11.2016, the petitioner filed a revision being Election Revision No.23 of 2017 before the Revisional Court on 3.12.2016 itself which was admitted by the Revisional Court vide its order dated 16.2.2017. The said revision is still pending before the District Judge, Farrukhabad.
The writ petition has been filed praying for a writ of mandamus commanding the District Judge, Farrukhabad to decide the Election Revision No.23 of 2017 expeditiously.
In view of the fact that the revision was filed in December 2016 itself, the District Judge, Farrukhabad is directed to decide the aforesaid revision within a period of six months from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before him.
With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.
