This writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to dispose the arbitration proceedings in a time bound manner. Though an Arbitrator is appointed in terms of Arbitration and Conciliation Act, this Court has no supervisory jurisdiction on the proceedings of the Arbitrator. It is doubtful that the writ petition is maintainable commanding the Arbitrator to conclude the proceedings in a time bound manner.
2. The learned Standing Counsel submits that arbitration proceedings have already initiated and will be concluded based on the co-operation of both parties.
In view of the above, I do not find any reason to direct the Arbitrator to conclude the proceedings as sought for in the writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed.
