Leave granted to implead District Magistrate, Allahabad, as respondent No. 5 to the writ petition.
The petitioner, who is a student of LL.B. is seeking quashing of order dated 7.4.2018. It is in fact not an order, but the status of his application for payment of scholarship, as displayed on the official website. It indicates that the claim was rejected on 11.3.2018 by District Scholarship Committee.
Learned standing counsel points out that against the order of the District Scholarship Committee, an appeal lies under Rule 17(iv) of the U.P. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Post Matric Scholarship Scheme Rules, 2012.
In view of the said provision, this Court is not inclined to entertain the instant matter, but leaves it open to the petitioner to avail the remedy of appeal. It is further provided that in case, any appeal is filed within two weeks from today, the same shall be decided by the fifth respondent in accordance with law, expeditiously and preferably within a period of twelve weeks from the date of presentation of the appeal.
The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly.
