By means of this writ petition the petitioner is claiming compassionate appointment on account of death of his father who was Constable in U.P. Police died while in service on 23.11.2010. At the time of death the petitioner was ineligible as he was minor, but after gaining majority he applied. On number of occasions it is claimed that physical test etc. were taken for the post of Steno which is a Class-III post.
It is to be noted that under compassionate appointment the claimant cannot ask for a particular post to be given. Whatever may be available should be offered.
In case the petitioner is interested in class-IV post and has the eligibility, his claim may be considered and decided by the department, as far as possible, within a period of four months from the date a certified copy of this order is presented before the authority concerned.
With the aforesaid observation/direction, the writ petition is disposed of.
