The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner to expedite the proceeding of Appeal No.1456 of 2021 (Old No.1443 of 2012) (Devdhari versus Vijay) filed under Section 11(1) of U.P Consolidation of Holdings Act, 1953 pending in the Court of Settlement Officer of Consolidation, (New Unit) District Jaunpur.
The Settlement Officer of Consolidation, (New Unit) District Jaunpur, respondent no.1 is directed to decide the aforesaid appeal expeditiously preferably within a period of six months from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before him, in case, there is no legal impediment in deciding the aforesaid appeal.
It is clarified that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioners.
With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition is disposed of.
