Heard Shri Vijay Singh Gour, learned counsel for the petitioner and Shri Mukesh Kumar Singh, learned counsel appearing for the respondent no. 4 and perused the record.
By means of the present writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner has prayed for consideration of his pending application before respondent no. 2 for grant of exemption from electricity duty, pursuant to a policy undertaken by the State Government. He submits that the application has remained pending, whereas others who are identically placed, are getting exemption under the relevant policy.
Learned counsel appearing for respondent no. 4 contends that he has no objection to any such direction being issued for consideration of petitioner's application in accordance with law.
In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 2 to consider and decide the pending application of the petitioner dated 08.06.2019 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
It is needless to say that the above order will not only be in accordance with law, but also be a reasoned and speaking one.
