JUDGMENT / ORDER

1. By way of this petition, the petitioner has mainly prayed for the following reliefs:
"(A) Commanding the respondent authorities to release the benefit of the first higher pay grade/scale with interest and grant the second higher pay grade/scale with interest and grant the second higher pay grade/scale as claimed for with interest thereon.
(B) During the pendency admission and final disposal of the petition command the respondent authorities to grant the amount and release the benefit as claimed for.
(C) To grant cost of this petition."
2. The brief facts of the present case are that the petitioner has joined the duty on 01.04.1976 as Sanitary inspector. Thereafter, the respondent No.5 was converted into Municipality with effect from 08.10.1986. The Government, vide its resolution dated 20.02.1996 had decided that higher pay scale/grade of three stages be granted to the petitioner and the other employees and respondent No.4 was appointed as competent authority in case of municipalities. Respondent No.4 passed an order dated in the year 2006 granting the first higher grade/pay scale in favour of the petitioner alongwith other employees.
3. Ld.
Counsel for the petitioner submitted that after verification and completion of procedural and other formalities, the benefits were approved in 2007, but the amount of difference and continuity was given from 01.04.1981 instead of 01.04.1976. The respondent No.4 has vide order dated 2/4/2006 granted first higher grade to the petitioner. The petitioner had made several oral requests as well as various written representations for payment of amount of difference, but the same have not been considered. Hence, the present petition.
4. Keeping in mind the grievance raised by the petitioner, Respondent No.4 is directed to decide the case of the petitioner after affording opportunity of hearing within a period of 2 months from the date of the receipt of copy of this order.
5. With above observations and directions, this petition stands disposed of. Direct service is permitted.
