Heard.
2. Petitioner approached this court with the present writ petition alleging that his marriage with one Aswini daughter of Didla William Carey of Rajahmundry, East Godavari District was scheduled to take place on 15.08.2014. Apprehending that some unknown persons are threatening to obstruct the marriage, he sought police protection and approached the Commissioner of Police with an application, dated 14.07.2014. Alleging inaction, the present writ petition is filed.
3. On 01.08.2014 this writ petition was adjourned to today for enabling the government pleader to get instructions.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner today submits that petitioner got married with the same girl on 03.08.2014 at Sri Balabalaji Devasthanam, as certified by the Executive Officer on 03.08.2014. Photo copy of the said certificate together with the copies of educational certificates of the girl are produced to substantiate that the petitioner was married with the said girl, who is major, on the date of marriage.
5. In any case, since the marriage of the petitioner is already stated to have been performed, as above, the cause of action in the present writ petition does not any more survive. However, it is stated by the petitioner’s counsel that the function for the marriage is proposed to be held. Petitioner is at liberty to approach the respondents if there is any further threat of interference.
Writ petition is, accordingly closed. As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
