The petitioner claims that long term deposit made by him have attained maturity between 2.5.2020 and 11.5.2020, but the withdrawal has not been allowed on the ground of a circular dated 20th March, 2020 issued under the instructions of the Reserve Bank of India.
It is contended that the direction imposing ban on the withdrawal of deposits is not surviving as on date.
Be that as it may, without entering into the merits of the present writ petition, we dispose of this writ petition with the direction to the respondent no.2, namely, Chief Manager/Competent Authority, Peoples Cooperate Bank Ltd. Branch 9/56 to consider the claim of the petitioner for withdrawal of the fixed deposits, which according to him had attained maturity in May, 2020 and decide by passing reasoned and speaking order in accordance with law, preferably within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
