JUDGMENT / ORDER

THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A. RAMALINGESWARA RAO WRIT PETITION No.25422 of 2008 Between:
D. Prabhakar Rao PETITIONER AND The Senior Superintendent of Police, Karimnagar District, Karimnagar.
RESPONDENT ORDER:
Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Home for the respondent.
This writ petition was filed challenging the action of the respondent in not taking action as per the directions issued by the National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi, vide proceedings dated 09.05.2007.
In the said proceedings the National Human Rights Commission passed an order and transmitted the complaint dated 15.11.2006 received from the petitioner to the concerned authority.
A counter affidavit is filed on behalf of the respondent admitting receipt of a copy of the complaint from the National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi. It is also stated that the petitioner submitted a similar representation to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh with same contents. After obtaining report from the subordinates, it was noticed that the petitioner is not a prominent leader of political party nor an extremist target, and hence it was felt that there is no threat from the extremists. However, on complaint lodged by the petitioner with the Station House Officer, Sircilla Police Station, a case in Cr.No.431 of 2006 for the offences under Sections 147, 452, 325, 341, 506 r/w 149 IPC, r/w 109 IPC was registered and after completion of investigation, charge sheet was filed before the Hon’ble Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Sircilla, and the same was taken on file vide C.C.No.722 of 2007.
In view of the above facts stated in the counter affidavit, no further orders are necessary in the present writ petition. The writ petition is accordingly dismissed. No order as to costs. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
