JUDGMENT / ORDER

Petitioner has approached this Court seeking to release his vehicle bearing Reg. No. TN-30/M-5454. The vehicle was seized on the allegation that the vehicle was attempted to be used for an offence under the Mines and Mineral (Regulations and Development) Act, 1957 and the Minor Mineral Concession Rules. 2. It is needless to state that the petitioner has an option to compound the offence by depositing an amount of Rs. 25,000/- which has been granted by this Court in various cases. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of as under:
The petitioner is permitted to compound the offence depositing an amount of Rs. 25,000/- as compounding fee and the requisite application with the 1st respondent and on receipt of such fee, the vehicle shall be released forthwith.
