This writ petition is filed in the year 2006. By Ext.P2 order, a fine of Rs.5,000/- was imposed on Mini Lorry and Rs.10,000/- for Tipper Lorry for illegal transportation of the ordinary earth. The petitioners have also certain other reliefs in the matter like directing to respondents to pay compensation on account of the illegal seizure of the vehicles. The petitioners have remitted the amount by Ext.P2 order. Exts.P3 and P3(a) are the chalan. There is nothing to indicate that the petitioners have remitted the amount under protest. Having paid the amount, without protest, the petitioners cannot turn around to challenge the proceedings.
In view of the facts and circumstances, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
