The prayer of the petitioner is for consideration of his claim for promotion from the post of Constable to Head Constable. According to learned counsel, the petitioner had been given three adverse entries in 2010. However, it is contended that since a period of five years has elapsed, those entries are not liable to be treated as depriving him of his right to claim promotion. Additionally, it is submitted that although the petitioner stands arraigned in Case Crime No. 025 of 2010 that alone cannot denude him from the right to claim promotion.
Sri Shukla, learned Standing Counsel representing the second respondent states that subject to verification of the aforesaid facts and contentions on merits being kept open, the claim of the petitioner, shall be attended to and disposed of in accordance with law. He further states that all endeavour shall be made to dispose of the same with expedition and preferably within a period of four months from the date of presentation of a duly authenticated copy of this order. The statement so made is recorded and accepted.
The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
