The petitioners are opposite parties in Civil Appeal No. 28/1995. They have filed the instant petition seeking a direction to the Appellate Court to decide the appeal, within a time specified by this Court.
A perusal of the order sheet reveals that the appeal was dismissed in default, and later on it was got restored to its original number by order dated 28.8.2017. The Appellate Court is fixing dates for final hearing of the appeal.
Having regard to these facts, the instant petition is disposed of by directing the Appellate Court to decide the appeal expeditiously, without granting unnecessary adjournments, preferably within a period of six months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order, provided there is no legal impediment.
