JUDGMENT / ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by S.NAGAMUTHU.J] The petitioner is the mother of one Mr.K.Lakshmanan, aged about 43 years. According to the petitioner, Mr.K.Lakshmanan, has been found missing from 09.07.2016 onwards. In this regard, a complaint has been made by the third respondent who is the wife of detenu and on the basis of the same, a case has also been registered by the respondent. But, so far, the detenu has not been secured, is the grievance of the petitioner.
2. Today, when the matter was taken for hearing, there was no representation for the petitioner. Neither the petitioner has made appearance.
3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, submitted that the detenu was mentally deranged person and he has gone elsewhere. The matter is under investigation.
4. From the narration of facts, it is clear that there is no illegal confinement. It is a case of mentally deranged person, leaving the house. The matter is under investigation. Therefore, no relief could be granted to the petitioner.
5. In the result, the Habeas Corpus Petition is dismissed however, with a direction to the respondent Police to expedite the investigation.
