Heard counsel for the petitioners, and perused the material available on record.
The present petition has been filed challenging the award of a permanent Lok Adalat whereby an amount of Rs. 2,18,863/- has been awarded along with 7% interest and in part thereto a sum of Rs. 5,000/- has been awarded towards mental agony and Rs.4,000/- as cost.
The submission of the counsel for the petitioner is that the policy in question was issued in Andhra Pradesh and the accident took place in Khalilabad District Sant Kabir Nagar, U.P., the permanent Lok Adalat vide its award dated 19.8.2019 while deciding the question of jurisdictioin held that in the written statement no specific ground of lack of jurisdiction was pleaded and thereafter proceeded to pass the award.
The award of the compensation is just and proper on which, the counsel for the petitioners could not demonstrate anything, I do not find it a just case for exercising my jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.
The writ petition is thus dismissed.
