JUDGMENT / ORDER

IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT HYDERABAD FOR THE STATE OF TELANGANA & THE STATE OF ANDHRA PRADESH (Special Original Jurisdiction) WEDNESDAY, THE TWENTY FOURTH DAY OF SEPTEMBER TWO THOUSAND AND FOURTEEN PRESENT THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE VILAS V. AFZULPURKAR WRIT PETITION No.28746 of 2014 BETWEEN Cherala Ilamma.
AND ... PETITIONER The Government of Telangana, Rep. by its Secretary, Revenue Department, Secretariat, Hyderabad and two others.
...RESPONDENTS Counsel for the Petitioner: MR. K. JAGADISHWAR REDDY Counsel for the Respondents: GP FOR REVENUE (TG) The Court made the following:
ORDER:
Petitioner seeks dependant family pension on the ground that that her late father was a freedom fighter and was granted freedom fighters pension in the year 1980 and that he died on 27.10.1989. Thereafter, the mother of the petitioner was granted the State Freedom Fighters pension till her death on 12.06.2012 and thereafter, the petitioner claims to have made an application before the District Collector, Karimnagar for dependant pension and thereupon, a report was called for from the Revenue Divisional Officer, who, in turn, has asked for a report from the Tahsildar. Petitioner states that she has filed a copy of the report sent by the Tahsildar to the RDO, being File No.C/397/2013 dated 31.12.2013, which is stated to have been acknowledged by the office of the RDO on 20.02.2014.
2. The report appears to recommend that since the petitioner is unmarried, her case be considered for grant of pension as dependant of freedom fighter. The relief sought for in the present writ petition is seeking appropriate direction to RDO herein to examine the report sent by the Tahsildar and forward it to the District Collector for appropriate action.
3. Learned Assistant Government Pleader submits that in such similar matters this Court already issued appropriate directions for forwarding the report to the District Collector for taking appropriate decision.
In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of directing the Revenue Divisional Officer to consider the said report sent by the Tahsildar and take appropriate action, particularly, for forwarding the said report to the competent authority i.e. the District Collector, expeditiously. As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
