Grievance is that petitioners' claim for compassionate appointment is not being accorded consideration.
While entertaining the writ petition following orders were passed on 29.3.2019:-
"Learned Standing Counsel shall obtain instructions and apprise the Court of whether the process of appointment on compassionate grounds has been concluded and if not the time frame within which the respondents contemplate according finality to the process so initiated.
Include in the list of fresh cases of 23 April 2019."
Again this Court proceeded to pass following orders on 23.4.2019:-
"Heard learned counsel for the parties.
Learned Standing Counsel has received written instructions dated 08 April 2019 from the office of the second respondent.
Petitioner by the instant writ petition seeks direction to the second respondent, U.P. Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, Lucknow, to conclude the process of recruitment for compassionate appointment against 442 post of S.I. Civil Police.
It is informed by the learned Standing Counsel that against 442 post, 639 candidates are to be considered for compassionate appointment for which physical efficiency test (PET) was concluded on 8 March 2019. Since, candidates seeking appointment out number the post available, consequently, a decision has been taken by the second respondent to hold screening test of the applicants, which according to the respondent shall be held/concluded expeditiously.
In view thereof, put up this matter, as fresh, on 29 July 2019."
Learned Standing Counsel has obtained instructions, according to which, written examination has already been conducted on 14.7.2019 and the process itself would be finalized within a period of two months.
In view of the above, this writ petition stands disposed of with a direction upon the concerned respondent to conclude the exercise and pass a specific order in respect of petitioners' claim, within a period of three months from the date of presentation of a certified copy of this order.
