Heard counsel for the petitioner and learned standing counsel.
This petition has been preferred for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent no. 2- Consolidation Officer, Mohammadabad Gohna, district Mau to decide pending Case No. 49/27 of 2002, Vishwanath Vs. State, under section 9-A(2) of the U.P. Consolidation of Holdings Act, within a reasonable period of time.
Contention of the learned counsel for petitioner is that a period of 16 years has already elapsed but petitioner's objection under section 9-A(2) of the aforesaid Act, is yet to be decided.
In the facts and circumstances of the case, a direction is issued upon respondent no. 2-Consolidation Officer, Mohammadabad Gohna, district Mau to decide pending Case No. 49/27 of 2002, Vishwanath Vs. State, under section 9-A(2) of the U.P. Consolidation of Holdings Act, in accordance with law expeditiously within six months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order.
With the above direction, the writ petition stands finally disposed of. No order as to costs.
