JUDGMENT / ORDER

The learned counsel for the petitioners is absent. The learned counsel for the 2nd respondent is present. The learned counsel for the petitioners was absent on 05.09.2017 and again when the matter was posted on 13.09.2017, there was no representation for the petitioners and the matter was directed to be posted under the caption “for dismissal” on 19.09.2017. Even today, there was no representation for the petitioners. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed for non-prosecution. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
2. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the 2nd respondent that though the charge sheet has been laid in the year 2012 due to the pendency of this petition there was no progress in the trial. In view of pendency of the matter for the past 5 years, the learned Judicial Magistrate, Tambaram is directed to complete the trial within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
