JUDGMENT / ORDER

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. Mrs.M.E.Raniselvam, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
2 The petitioner, based on his qualification, registered his name in the District Employment Exchange, Dharmapuri and was assigned registration No.DRD1993M00010275, NCO CODE No.X0210 dated 18.06.1984. The petitioner, further averred that he also completed Higher Secondary Course in the year 1989 and the same was registered as NCO Code No.X0115 dated 24.04.1991 and that he also belongs to Most Backward Class community. The petitioner applied for the post of Office Assistant in the services of the Tamil Nadu Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Chennai and he was called for interview and also attended the interview, but, he was orally informed that due to over age, his candidature was rejected. It is further averred by the petitioner that in the light of the lifting of ban order on recruitment, he is entitled to age relaxation. In this regard, he has submitted representations dated 24.12.2014 and 30.12.2016 to the 2nd respondent. Though those representations were received and acknowledged, the same are yet to be disposed of. Hence, he has come forward to file the present writ petition.
3 Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms.M.E.Raniselvam, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
4 Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.12.2016 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
5 The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
